If your financial situation is either frustrating or frightening, you may be wondering what you can do to improve that situation. We frequently write about the benefits of bankruptcy and other debt relief solutions which the law allows for. Speaking to an experienced attorney about these options may help you achieve a fresh financial start. But even if you are able to achieve a fresh financial start, your financial stability is not likely to “right” itself overnight. In most cases, individuals must adjust their approach to their finances in the wake of taking advantage of certain debt relief solutions.

One of the things you may want to consider doing if your finances are sincerely challenging you is moving to a different location. Moving can be temporarily unsettling and can even be a bit costly upfront. But oftentimes, moving to a more affordable location can save you a staggering amount of money over time.

The respected website Nerd Wallet recently published a list of America’s most affordable locations. It is important to note that affordability tends to affect many aspects of everyday life. For example, Nerd Wallet has observed that a single Coca-Cola costs $1.30 in Oklahoma City, but costs $2.50 in Kodiak, Alaska. Changing your location may help you to change all aspects of your financial life.

When looking at factors like the ratio of income to cost of living in a variety of locations, Nerd Wallet has concluded that the following California locations are among the top 100 most affordable places in the United States: Tracy (10), San Jose (22), Bakersfield (38) and Riverside (97). California does not contain many of the nation’s most affordable places. But if you are willing to look outside of California for relocation options, you will have many to choose from.
